The focus of the SIMS Training, Supplier Development & Procurement programme initiatives are governed by the National Development Plan’s key focus areas, which include:

  • Increasing employment in the economy.
  • Addressing competiveness.
  • Balancing spatial development of rural areas and poorer provinces.
  • Creating opportunities in improving regional and global corporation.
  • Enabling transformation that benefits a wider range of social participants in society, i.e. unskilled workers, rural communities, youth and women.

To this end, we are committed to building ever-strengthening partnerships with local EMEs and/or QSEs in our bid to contribute the country’s economic well-being. This is undertaken through a Training, Supplier Development & Procurement approach.

The approach ensures compliance with the B-BBEE Act (under the new codes as published by DTI on 11 October 2013) and the National Development Plan, as well as Corporate Social Development requirements from a company perspective and from the perspective of our customers, suppliers and business partners.

The SIMS Training, Supplier Development & Procurement initiatives present true empowering opportunities that are being made available to entrepreneurs.
